A well-known Xitsonga musician, Kenny Bevhula, has passed away. 53-year old Bevhula passed away last night after suffering from bladder cancer. In a statement, the family says Bevhula will be remembered for his unique voice, talent and passion in the music industry. Meanwhile, the Gardee family in Mbombela, Mpumalanga has called on the Mandlanga Commission of Inquiry to summon the suspended Mpumalanga Police Commissioner, Daphney Manamela after she alleged that top police officers manipulated investigations of certain cases to protect criminals. The cases include the murder of Hillary Gardee, the daugher of the EFF Deputy President, Godrich Gardee. In a letter directed to the commission, they also call for the accused police officers to be summoned. The court postponed the matter to Thursday, to allow the state more time to prepare for the bail hearing. Iran's foreign minister says passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz has been declared fully open for the remainder of the ceasefire period in Lebanon. U.S. President Donald Trump has said  Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. In a post on X, Abbas Araghchi says vessels will transit the strategic waterway along the coordinated route already announced by Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization. This comes after the East London Regional Court in Ku Gompo City granted the defence leave to appeal the five-year sentence against Malema in the firearm discharge case. The court however dismissed the application by the defence to appeal the conviction. Julius Malema has been sentenced to five years direct imprisonment for unlawful possession of a firearm and two years imprisonment for unlawful possession of ammunition. The sentences will run concurrently. Malema was found guilty of contravening firearm controls when he discharged an automatic rifle in the air during the EFF's fifth birthday celebration in Mdantsane in 2018.
